The famously bespectacled Joe Paterno may be seeing his last days on the horizon. Surely, more than one of his team’s less inspired performances has been described as the blind leading the blind.
And if you groaned at those, just wait until today’s surfeit of witty opthamological observations.
From the The Daily Collegian:
Although Joe Paterno rarely goes without his characteristic Coke-bottle glasses, his likeness beside Beaver Stadium isn’t so lucky.
The glasses from the Joe Paterno statue on the east side of Beaver Stadium were removed and stolen sometime between Friday and Saturday, Penn State Police said.
An officer was on routine patrol Saturday morning and saw the glasses were missing, police said.
You think this might be easy to spot? Here’s a picture, taken from here:

But does he know what number he's holding up?
Honestly, separating bronze from bronze might be difficult.
It certainly doesn’t seem like it happens often.
But, considering that’s basically all the Big 10′s football teams have been doing for the past few years, I would guess the enterprising vandals involved in this one just took some tips from Jim Tressel.

That is classic.
Hats off to the vandals!
